Im not trying to :mjpls: or whatever, but when I watched it for the first time, I couldn't stand it. I was just too disappointed with Kaydee/Caine.

Before O-Dog robbed the store and his cousin got knocked for his car, Kaydee was an average dude focusing in school. It wasn't until his friends pressured him to gang-banging then he became more aggressive. The film does show that ever since he was a child, he has been no stranger when it comes to violence and drugs since his mom was a fiend and his dad shot a dude for money that was owed to him, but then his grand parents raised him and made sure he stayed away from trouble. The reason why Kaydee started to change was because of O-Dog and Wax. He got himself into deep but kept going down until at the very end he decides put his bad lifestyle to a stop and have a better life in Atlanta with Ronnie. Looking at the whole film, Kaydee did a lot of things with at least one of them is bound to effect later on in his life, and it happens to be when he didn't want to support the chick he impregnated and beat down her cousin. What really had me pissed was that KayDee had so many warnings about the bad lifestyle he was getting into by his grand-parents, teacher, Ronnie, and Sharif but he just didn't stop.

If the movie really is trying to make a point how people can be products to their environment, does that means he has no accountability for his actions? Don't get me wrong, Im not mad at dudes like O-Dog or Wax for being thugs, their lives were most likely worse and didn't had good guidance. But KayDee had school, a house over his head, and grand parents that looked out for him. But to me he threw it all away. It wasn't until he was shot and dying to realize he should had listened to the advice telling him to stop and focus on life. I just can't sympathize with KayDee. Boyz in the Hood was a way better movie. /rant

U know throughout the movie he narrates

Y'all ain't reading my post. I have watched the same movie as y'all, but y'all acting like I don't know what the fukk happened. Yeah, he's the narrates in the movie because the movie is based on him. I still don't believe he made wise decisions. He realizes that until the end of the movie.

Am I wrong? :manny:

That was basically my whole point in the OP. Menace II Society was a different film . I usually sympathetic to the main characters but caine was making bad choices and slowly became a different person.

Or was that the whole point to the movie?:ohhh:
