He's not the be all end all but he's not that bad. When the hype machine was in full force I could not get into the album because I was expecting to be blown away. I wasn't. But listening to my ipod on shuffle a song come on that's unfamiliar and sounds okay and I look and it's Kendrick Lamar. and he's okay.

He rapped his ass off, gained fans, got a major studio deal and made GKMC... it's that simple

Kendrick Lamar clearly takes his music serious, and that is evident with GKMC... GKMC is not your average album full of Pro Tools Sessions. He actually sat down, and got creative trying to tell his story. It's a hell of a debut.

Also on a personal note, I respect him as a artist because he's not afraid to rap about his faith. Now I know alot
of nikkas in here aren't religious or don't believe in God and all that but I do.

He just makes good music, if you ain't feeling his music don't force it.

Songs like HiiiPower, ADHD, Sing About Me aren't just your everyday average tracks.

As for the voice effects... meh it grew on me. Don't distract me from his lyrics so I'm cool with it. He can rap, he write write, he can perform. I mean what do you want us to say? You either like him or you don't



This is just good music

One of my favorite tracks with him is His Pain. With BJ The Chicago Kid, who I feel is a underrated artist. But I know nikkas in The Coli aren't going to appreciate that song.

People like me are excited that a non swag rapper is in the mainstream. As someone who grew up in a rough area but wasnt in the streets thuggin I was able to relate to his music. His music is a mixture of mainstream and conscious rap, its the best of both worlds for fans like me.
