I dont get why some people will automatically dislike something just because it came our before they were born or was popular before their time. I was talking to one of my friend's today and he was telling me that he had never seen Coming to America and I asked him how is he black and has never seen Coming to America. His response was that he doesn't watch anything that came out before 1995 which is the year he was born. He told me whenever he has to watch something old he gets bored.

Growing up I loved watching old TV show's and movies such as The Jeffersons, Different Strokes, What's Happening, The Andy Griffith Show, Gillian's Island, Classic Looney Tunes as well as other classic shows and movies. As a teen I used to love to listen to a lot of old school music. I remember as a teen I would be hanging out with my friends and every now and then would throw on some classic hiphop and some of my friend's would automatically hate on it just because it was old school until they heard a song they recognized.

I just don't get it. Just because something is old doesn't make it any less good then if it just came our today. I often see people posting about certain songs, TV shows or movies being dated but that's just a matter of one's own opinion. And You have some rapper's out here who are proud that they are ignorant about music from older artists and people want to say well "such and such was born in 1998 or some other year he or she shouldn't know about so and so."I didn't grow up I'm the 70s or 80's but I was still familiar with celebrities from those time periods. I know I'm just ranting but I just want to know for those of you who don't fukk with older stuff what is your reason.

I'm like this with movies, it's so stupid. Sometimes its about the movie quality and other times its about jokes that are from that era that will just go over my head.

Coming to America is a classic but humor degenerates over time.
Fixed:myman: Seth MacFarlane really brought the gross out humor to the forefront and that's why a lot of shows are more disgusting than funny. Coming To America is still as funny now as it was back then, and it's still one of the most quoted movies of all time.

Fax although I think South Park started it all with the gross stuff.

In that case they'll miss out on some great 60s 70s soul music. Their loss! There is some great entertainment from the past. It's funny cause when they get old they'll be saying the same shyt they were against.

It was Ren and Stimpy that started that trend. It led to a lot of imitators but the restrictions on what you could do with an animated show lessened over time to the point where shows like South Park and Family Guy could exist.

But to answer OP's question, a lot of people are like that. You need to have curiosity and other people introducing you to stuff to get you to appreciate things from before your time. I always liked entertainment from the 70s/80s/90s, but I know there were certain albums I wouldn't have listened to if it wasn't for The Coli, or certain shows I would have never watched if it wasn't for older people in my family. It's really easy to be insulated from everything now, that's why it has to start at a young age. Once you get to high school and college, your tastes are pretty much set and if you don't have anyone around you introducing you to something from the old school, or you don't have that natural curiosity, it will never change.

Also threw Citizen Kane on my girl, she is like :what: black and white. .....but then she was :whoo::banderas:
