Black Protag, No black protag, I think the game is gonna suck but sell off the strength of the IP alone.
The game/writing is a toss up since all the talented folk that curated the piff from 3 up to San Andreas gone and that includes the talented Houser brother who had a hand in writing alot of that shyt, along with the radio Cac Lazlow.
Didn't like 5 and I've a feeling I'm not going to be too into this one, even though I'm hoping to be proved wrong.

Because from Red Dead Revolver 1 up to what eventually turned into Red Dead Redemption 2, the writing team consisted of people who actually gave a fukk about portraying characters that made sense within the evil world that they were displaying to you, without making them seem cookie cutter or prone to outrageous fantasy that would turn them into marvel villains.
Also, the fact that whatever iteration of Rockstar that's left has little to no ability to create satirical work that doesn't envelope edgy, in your face caricatures in place of good writing and world building, you end up with loud sound bites (Trevor Phillips) and a host of annoying characters that jockey for your attention by being outlandish rather than just down right fiendish. I've consumed (pause) so much of Rockstar's golden era works/writing to the point you could see the fall off happen dramatically around 5 and when they realized people liked an open world game in which they could cause chaos and focused SOLELY on that for decades as opposed to doing anything else.
That's why they started losing writers and talented staff members left and right, pulling/breaking apart teams to focus solely on the shyte GTA online content that isn't funny or good in my opinion and that of alot of people who stopped playing/got tired of 5.
I'm not surprised that Red Dead turned out as good as it did because the story was already written decades ago from RDR1 in terms of introducing a new protag and the backstories of John/Dutch and the legendary band of bandits they roamed with that formed into Dutch's gang with their philosophy. I'm pirating GTA 6 off the strength of how much I disliked 5's story, just to see if they can muster any level of competence again and not just throw loud stereotypes with borderlin satisfying gameplay that further fuels their online money printing machine, which is GTA online, their main focus now and possibly forever.​

I like seeing hood Black ppl with their accents being represented

Id be fine with seeing a dude trying to be Ghost or Avon

But not all the time

Id rather see SOME stereotypes, as long as its not crazy offensive, instead of whitewashing a white character

Which is all you see in DC or Marvel now
Except for some corny attempts to relate to a Black audience here and there

Its not the actors its the script. GTA almost feels like a parody franchise. RDR was more of a drama.

Every franchise doesnt have to be a super serious sterling piece of writing

Id be mad if it started out that way and then dipped in quality, but they started out like that
