I don't disagree with OP
Don't like it move on. Hip hop isn't waiting on you. Hip hop shouldn't sound the same it did 20+ years ago if it did then it wouldn't be the most popular genre in the world and
at you talking about rappers saying things that's never been said before. What else is there to talk about?
This Hip-Hop thing had huge potential, but it didn’t deliver for the most part. There’s no substance, just a veneer of progressiveness and exuberance that does its best to try and hide the obvious poor grasp of language, of aesthetics, of composition: all of its iconic hand gesturing; the bling; the swag; the bravado; the bytches; all of that is fugazi trying to direct away from the inevitable realisation that the brain is seldom used. Repetitive, Uncreative. Hip-Hop is vapid; it’s a movement of mediocrity, and it should have been otherwise.
I’m talking specifically about the MC’ing aspect of the movement. 90% of all the rap music that’s been made is irrelevant trash. Funny thing is I loved that trash when I was a kid. There are very few truly artistic moments in the genre. I’m not talking about “conscious” stuff either. I mean creative and well-thought-out, witty and profound; stuff that sticks with you, stuff that makes you ponder and wonder or even just pleasant pastoral type of shyt; in short, poetry. I want to be disturbed by the art or soothed by the art, yet I’m mainly disturbed by these nikkas antics.
I don’t know man... How come the whole thing is so stale? How many of you can quote multiple lines that really resonated with you? Genuine moments, creative shyt that's never been said? How many plant seeds to stampede the globe are there?

"Hip-Hop" has been garbage for decades now. From the rapper ringtone era in the 00s to now in the 2010s where it's turned into thot music for lower caliber females to twerk to.
