What's wild is cats try'na get credit for "being in the streets".

There's millions of dudes who are "really in the streets", and they don't make records. Nobody's gonna give any of these clowns credit or respect just because they came up wherever. Most of us grew up in equally fukked up hoods or know someone that did. What's your music soundin' like though? Let's see what you do with this "career" of yours, if it even lasts longer than 3-4 years. fukk all this storytelling shyt.

Hip Hop can look like such a joke at times.

Seemed like a pretty legit interview to me.From my take if anybody thought Future was fake or only on some auto singing fruity type sh*t this interview would of changed their minds.Alot of "real n#ggas" should be able to relate to what he saying. He not glorifying street sh%t he's talking about moving on to bigger and better things and leaving that street life alone.A fake n#gga would be glorifying it and acting like it's cool because he never really lived that life.

Dres from Black Sheep had an interview last year, where he said "they always talk about how they're not trying to glorify the street life. But then why even mention it? You are trying to, because you've made sure to associate yourself with it". The dudes like Chi Ali and Little Shawn who were really living that life, never even hinted at that in their music or interviews.

He went on to talk about how he's never mentioned anything about his past and how he was a heavy heroine dealer. He didn't even want to answer on whether or not he was, but Little Shawn had blown his spot up in a previous interview. Dres said that he just wanted people to focus on his music, not on what he was before he got in the business.

I respect that. A lot of these rappers try to equate being from the streets with being respected. Those of us in the know, know that the real cats don't speak on what used to happen. It's corny, and most of these dudes are lying.

I feel that but sometimes you keep it a secret alot of people think you soft and feel like they want to try you thinking everything is sweet so sometimes you gotta let people know i do this music sh#t and trying to better myself for the better but im really from the streets and lived that life so don't try me like no b#tch or think im a sweet lick just in case you didn't know.

I don't know. I know when I heard about Dres, I was like "THAT dude?" But that's how it's supposed to be though. When you know you're live, you don't worry about cats try'na test you. No one would've ever thought that dude was some kinda big-time street dude, rollin' with ATCQ and De La Soul. All the live dudes I've ever known, never spoke about it. You'd just find out if you acted up.
