I have enough in my saving to get me through a year if shyt goes all wrong and my 401k is nice. Now I want to see what I can get out of 10 grand, it's not much but I'm financially illiterate. How do I flip this and make it atleast 13 g's by 2016?

Ain't this where the smart people of The Coli post?

Check the Boiler Room - Stock Market thread. Its stickied. Lots of ideas in there. If you want low risk and little to no work - invest in an index fund/ETF. If you're looking for a quick flip, you may be out of luck right now. Market is volatile and a lot of people think its going down. You can make money on the way down but if you're a newbie, I'd stay far away.

idk i just thought 3 gs over the course of a year was shootin kinda low :skip:

:skip: A 30% return over the course of a year in the markets is damn good... If he wanted to start a business or side hustle with the $10,000, it's plausible he can turn it into $13,000 more easily, if he knows what he's doing with whatever he starts up. :ehh: In fact, that's a surer bet than throwing it into the market and expecting an impressive return like that.
