use an anecdote that is heart gripping and powerful of human experience in poverty...people need to feel why this is an important issue...both experience and data need to be primacy; be interdisciplinary too

English is a needed class to graduate, if I fukk up, my grade fukks up and I'll be in the 12th grade next yr

Start with a question like "who here considers them self poor?" Then follow up with the "definition" of poverty like maybe "Did you know that a salary 10K makes you wherever near the poverty line?" Something like that. Just try to engage the audience first.

Or you could ask something like what amount do you feel you need to make before you're considered poor?
