Got my first spot, a one bedroom apartment. I might've fcked up:francis:

I coulda put more $$ down for the rent but I wanted to live below my means. Basically I got a lil pest control problem. The first day I'm in there unpacking shyt, leave to get something to eat and turn on the kitchen light. Mf lil baby roach is on the side of the fridge chillin. I hit him w/the raid but I was thinking ain't this bout a bxtch:sadcam:

I sprayed that raid defense shyt on the baseboards and crevices but still. I'm not tryna have some females over and she some roach in the kitchen. Talking about the boy :damn:shyt is embarrassing. A brotha got bills (we all do) lights, water, tv/wifi, cell phone, student loans. It adds up. I'm tryna downgrade my living situation to have more takehome pay to manuever with, but what can I do about these pests?

Right now I'm only cooking with a rice cooker, no crumbs. And I don't use the drawers in the kitchen either.

Is an exterminator worth it? Or should I stick to raiding the house myself.

Does ur apt complex management use pest control services? If so, tell them so they can have ur apt and nearby areas treated. Also, one apt I stayed at did that and put colbalts (roach motels) around my spot when I first moved it. Once they did that....I stopped seeing roaches.

First step... Get some paint and redo the walls.

It'll temporarily force the roaches away from your apartment.

Then, you need to spend all your time looking for any and all crevices in your apartment. Get the material needed to seal it up as well as possible.

I'd also advise you to be as simple with your living as possible. No clutter. I'm talking almost japanese level - bed, tv, rice cooker and some minimal furniture.

That's the start.

I'm sorry you're going through that, breh. Roaches are something I just cannot ever get used to. The way they move, scatter and invade. I fukking hate it.

You shouldn't be seeing any roaches this time of the year so that could be a sign of a bigger problem down the road.

fukk, my heart just dropped for OP. Damn.

Your landlord has to pay for the exterminator. Make them aware of it ASAP and if they don’t want to pay move out.

Yea I went by the front office today and told em. They said they'd. She a note of it and handle it.

If anything I'll spray my spot weekly with the raid stuff and tell the front office so they can come spray every two weeks.

I make decent money for a 23 yr old but I'm tryna save and invest. Told myself Ima stay down for at least 7 more years then boss up on these nikkas:mjcry:fckin pests man

Another thing after you clean everything, in your cabinets especially is to get some borax powder and put a very thin coating of that powder on the inside of the cabinets. The Borax powder is poison to them and they will take it back to the Hive and wipe em all out. I dunno about everywhere else though but if you can find any openings also get some Diatomaceous Earth and spread that powder around those openings. Leave a thick (to a roach) barrier/powder moat in and around the opening. It'll dry out their exoskeletons and as they crawl across it will rip their exoskeletons apart. With both of these things wrap a t-shirt around ur nose and mouth for protection against the dust. Be careful with going overboard on the raid, it is a nervous/muscular system agent, don't want too much of that stuff getting up in ur brain.

Above the fray.
Go to big box store TODAY and spend $20 on Roach Motel brand sticky traps(about 3 dollars for a box of 2 traps)

and $5 on big carton of 40 Mule brand Borax.

Also get the cheapest hand spreader they sell.

Place motels behind fridge, stove, under each sink, and in EVERY corner of each room.
Using the lowest setting, fill the spreader with borax and crank out a thin layer of borax along EVERY wall of the apt.and inside EVERY closet You should not be able to see the powder on the floor.

What you're doing is baiting the bugs with the attractant in the roach motels. That should draw most of them out and kill/trap them. The borax will kill any strays or stragglers.

Within 2 weeks your problem will be greatly reduced and THEN you have them exterminate and seal cracks/ stop leaks. You will have time to plan to be away when they spray those harsh chemicals.

Raid and all those contact sprays are BULLshyt.
I'd advise against bombs.

I manage property and unfortunately have dealt with this problem before.
Other residents in the property and even neighbors in other buildings contribute to bugs being in the area and making their way into your spot.

Read your lease and have the management regularly treat inside and OUTSIDE the building you live in and fix ALL water leaks.

Listen to me same shyt happened to me look.

Don't move shyt in there yet head to Walmart buy roach bombs like 4 come in a pack.

Unplug everything in the crib, stove, frig, everything, put a bomb in each part of the crib leave for two days come back open a window.

Your place will be roach free after, then just clean the whole place with bleach.

get some of that roach powder shyt with BORIC ACID from Home Depot or Lowes this shyt works. I live around nasty ass junkie cacs and my neighbors moved in brought roaches with them one time. Just make sure the shyt has boric acid. It should come in a container something like this.

Breh, fukk most all that over the counter pesticide. Even them ones at home Depot by the gallon were :trash:. Most that stuff would only works if you sprayed it directly on the roaches.
