'I had life-changing surgery to become a man, but now I'm a woman'
Stephanie Thompson, 34, told Newsweek: "I finally feel like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders—one I didn't even realize I was carrying."

Stephanie transitioned to male at 25, undergoing hormone therapy and surgeries including breast and reproductive organ removal.
After living as Stefan for 6 years, she realized transitioning didn't solve her underlying issues.
De-transitioning was challenging, requiring mental health support and hormone replacement therapy.
She regrets the hysterectomy but feels her story can help others in similar situations.
Now identifying as female again, Stephanie feels free and at peace with her identity.
