I used to defend Nas alot but he just as weird as Jigga is when it comes to each other these nikkas are 40+ still on some frenemy shyt :wrist:

Is it Webster Hall duets or is it subliminals and dropping projects on each others release dates :stopitslime:
shyt..i'd be more insulted if I was Horse and Garden

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Hes slighting Jays entrepreneur skills like Hov needed or relied on Dame like that. I had no Damon Dash, just maniacs I wish I had a Damon dash I woulda been straighter = you had a businessman as your right hand and I had nikkas like jungle and horse, if I had a dame I would been even bigger than I am but I still made it. Maybe Im reading too much into but :francis: also not a huge diss or nothing but its a love tap, lil nudge if you will

And if Pac and Big was alive those bars woulda been for them 2

They been doing this shyt for years at this point

Edit: Nas also lying his ass off like Steve Stoute hasnt been in his corner for 20+ years but ok
Nah I'm with you... nikka could have named 150 black execs and chose the one person that was with Jay and later beefed with Jay.. It's not like it was a freestyle off the top, he planned and wrote it, and purposely used Dame of all people, after dissing the shyt out of Dame previously

Reminds me of him throwing shots at Jay, ON A SONG WITH JAY.. Right after they "make up" on stage, Nas signs to Def Jam, where Jay is president. In exchange, he gets the rights to his masters... So they do a song for Jay's album and this nikka bringing up the situation AND shytting on him

Worst enemies wanna be my best friends
Best friends wanna be enemies like that's what's in

Uptown, Downtown, Switzerland
he prolly just watched Backstage before writing the verse.

he was just there as a Jay and Cam squashed the beef.
might have thought to himself Dame should have been there and got him thinking.

Came here to type this.

Nas acting like he hasn’t been with Stoute since his 2nd album.

steve stoute HAS NOT been with nas since his 2nd album. He was with Nas for IWW to around to about Nastradamus and then he went with Jayz

Nope, you are stretch armstronging.

That was more of him saying that he should have had more business men around than street cats.

Steve Stoute was out for Steve Stoute. Dame Dash was out for ROC A FELLA RECORDS, period. Dood gets a bad wrap because of his arrogance but he really rode hard for that label.

PREACH!!!....my thoughts exactly...i was gonna post the exact same response

Nas crew wasnt influentual in him making sound business decisions...he was running deep with the Queensbridge finest thugs and goons....

he didn't have a DASH who could help him make sound business decisions to help secure a solid career business wise early in it's formation like JAY did

Stoute simply saw NAS as a "pet project" for him to work on ...in an effort to "monetize" the NAS brand as he said in his own words following the lackluster sales of ILLMATIC

and although it was a Success as we seen in the double platinum success of IT WAS WRITTEN

it just simply served as another feather in Steve Stoute's cap as he rode the ranks of the hiearchy of the Columbia/SONY music group as well as stature in the industry

where as Dame Dash was THERE since Jay-z independent run on Payday Records with the In My Lifetime single which i remember being serviced hand to hand by Dame and his crew "The Best Out" to various mixtape deejays in NYC ...i remember that greatly being a mixtape head and aspiring deejay in the tristate at that time prior to my move to the south..

yeah Dame was always there and rode passionatly for Jay during the good and bad times

his whole approch to thier new relationship with DEF JAM was BOLD in itself....they were the first NYC hip hop entitiy that i know of at the time to seek a Joint Venture/Partnership much like No Limit records had done as well as Rap A lot and what Cash Money would do down the line...

gotta respect DAME ...despite his questionable tactics...he definitily had his "artist" (jay z) intrests at hand
