I hate viewing the body at funerals....can we change this tradition?

I got a funeral on Saturday and I don't want to remember him like that

My gmom is doing a private viewing and the funeral seperate. Not going to viewing.

Like another poster said just don't go view the body. I didn't go view the body at the funeral when my Granddaddy passed in September... But I did view the body alone at the funeral home. I wanted to say goodbye in my own special way.

went to a funeral this weekend for the first time in like 10 years , i didn't go up and see the dead body but what was crazy was the amount of time the priest spent talking about the god

yep - told my family I will not be viewing bodies anymore.
its like a damn tradition down south ( North Carolina currently, Louisiana born).
then you got them, nikkas with cameras... really
and if anything happens to me , unless they think I am a victim of foul play ( like a snapped episode)
I wanna be in the ground the next day
I tell everyone , If they ain't seen me enough like I am now, they damn sure ain't gonna see me like that.
