I've had my trusty Samsung GS3 for 2 years, various blackberries before that(going back to pre-Obama era) and I just took the jump to a 64gb iP6, 3 days ago(first iphone mind you)....
Honestly I loved the galaxy and had no complaints with the Android ecosystem but there's something about iOS, the more restricted environment was hard to get used to at first but the trade off is the whole user interface feels refined and and it just glides along.
everything from the fonts to the pretty design archetypes within the user interface feel ideal, like this is how a device should operate
When I plug in the charger to the phone it has a nice solid click, it gives me the same exact feedback every-time I plug it in with no variation or play in the socket, whereas the usb plug in my Samsung feels just like any other device being plugged in, yes I'm aware this a miniscule detail and some of you might say pointless but its not.
This type of attention to detail and craftsmanship I believe is due to both software/hardware being created from a single source for a single source.
