I fukk with the young nikkas, idk maybe they've conditioned me well. When you hang out with a lot of 19-23 year old chicks 9 times outta 10 they wanna hear some Future and Drake. This Hispanic shorty I was macking with for a bit wanted to listen to nothing but Thugga, I know Slime Season 2 from front to back :russ:

It's not that the new hip hop is terrible per say, it's just that it doesn't has it's own lane. There's no alternative like there was in the 90's-mid 00's. nikkas get tired of hearing the same sounding songs from 30 different nikkas.

I'll also add this, the times has changed, whether it be for the better, or worse. nikkas not trying to sit there and dissect bars anymore. They trying to hear so loud wild shyt, with hella adlibs and heavy bass, shyt that makes the clubs live. The focus is not on the bars anymore, that's why everybody mumbling on their shyt now, it's about turning up love it or hate it :yeshrug:

Why don't y'all just merge all these threads together instead of making new ones everyday?

rap has been commercialized to the point of no return since the 90's it's kind of laughable to blame it on the youth

rap is actually tame and less vulgar than it use to be

Go listen to records that use to be singles

problem is putting too much stock in entertainment

the content isn't what matters, it's the ownership

The reason why black music isn't black owned is because the black business men keep selling out

Berry Gordy, sold out, instead of grooming someone to take over motown, he sold it and rode off into the sunset, which is his right, but you have stand for something more at some point

Russell Simmons sold out

back at the height of hip hop power there's no logical reason, why Master P, Puffy, Jay-Z, and Dr. Dre couldn't come together and make a distribution company, and just hold a monopoly over rap

The problem is that would require them to work together, which is the main reason why they aren't in black industries, the most successful black people never do business with each other which is a goddamn shame.
