i've never used anything other than my lil alesis sr-16 (and pro tools, of course). i was distracted from the game for a minute but just seeing that makes me want to get back into. congrats.

At this point in technology you'd be better off using Akai MPC midi pads and FL STUDIO 10.

I had an Akai MPD32 and an LPD8....they are killer and easy to use ad inexpensive.

there is a learning curve just like using piece of equipment to make music, if you have not made beats before on a beat machine its going to be difficult at first but the feeling and the sound a mpc gives is very unique...don't get too caught up in gear, you can get the same results from a mpd32 or any other cheaper machine.

I would like to get an Akai MPC renaissance...that looks really nice.
The thing with the MPC is it's all by ear...I like Maschine cause I can see the wavelengths and patterns in the DAW (software X hardware combination). The renaissance is like that.
