Finally caught the movie and I gotta say I want to see more of the world it takes place in.

It's among the best movies / shows Netflix has to offer. Definitely a must see Netflix showing.
GOOD
1. The world building is A1 ...you are not going to see another movie(
maybe a comic or game tho) with a world like this
- L.A. PD with humans, along side a centaur(human + horse hybrid) cops, and an orc cop.
- FBI(magic taskforce) that deals with magical users
- The city has places sectioned off for elves who represent the rich cacs(I was looking for black elves ...saw non)
- There are different sects of the distinct races
- There is an entire back story on a war that happened in the past that banished the "dark lord" and how those events spiraled until modern day
2. A healthy social commentary is strongly on display ...but doesn't get to preachy, it's left as a constant backdrop and motive force to the events on screen.
- They do a nice job of discussing issues a lot of AAs dealt with historically and contemporaneously in relation to police and society as a whole. They do it by abstracting those issues onto the orcs instead.
- The opening credits give a fantastic 2-3min montage commentary on the state of the orcs in relation to the other people.
3. The movie moves along at a good clip.
- It doesn't get bogged down anywhere and linger on a scene or location before moving along.
- The story, action, and comedy hits at all the right places.(I.E. drama, action, and comedy is used when it's called for but not over done.)
4. The characters and actors are all unique enough to add something distinct to the story.
- Will Smith and the orc guy(
never heard of dude) killed it. All the major actors were good-great actually. It wasn't Oscar material mind you
but as a straight up holiday "popcorn flick" it delivers.
- Each of the three main characters bring a different "dynamic" to the group. The human cop(will smith) brings the grounded "our world" feel to everything so we can relate, the orc gives an opportunity to understand how these fantastical elements interact with the ground L.A. PD / normal humans while also providing narrative motives you wouldn't get otherwise, and the eleven bright provides the magic and secret societies of the world by putting them into play.
5. It . is . funny
BAD
6. I want to see more of the world
- They provided this huge rich world but we only got to see a sliver of it(the parts central to the narrative)
7. I don't care for going in circles by revisiting locals
- When a local is revisited I start to question why was all the other stuff between done.(why didn't they accomplish this the first time they were here)
8. It ended on a weak note
- The whole story wrapped up fine with no lose threads but I wish there was more "gravity" to the last 5min. Forshadow something or let them have a moment with there respective families ....or something. It just kinda ended.

Conclusion:
If someone just subscribed to Netflix I would say(in no particular order)...
Watch:
- The marvel shows(Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke cage, Iron fist, Defenders, and Punisher)
- Stranger things
- Bright
I want to see where they take it in the sequel!
Solid movie
