and :mjlol: at Black People...

All these Black Celebrities wouldn't even give Nate Parker money to make the Nat Turner movie, and these are the same people complaining about Hollywood's stereotypical portrayal of Black People as dumb criminals...

That's why I don't take all that "Black Pride and Black Lives Matter" militant sh@t seriously...

Like 2Pac said in "Rebel of the Underground"..."When it comes to the real some brothers go silent"...

Them Lo Lifes...
they probably thought it wouldn't be a good business decision. guarantee you if it was a movie like the other slavery movies, more black people would've donated money.
Or when them roles come up for black actors and the casting directors first questions are "did you help Nate Parker finance his movie".

THEN maybe it wasnt a good business decision based off their future in hollywood..

It is a damn shame...

Black People are not hated, they are NOT RESPECTED, because the Rich Blacks don't want to be Black...They don't want to invest in their own race...

That's another problem with the community, too much "business"...You don't build a people with "business"...First you have to propagate a unifying identity, because that is what will lead to self-sustaining business...

There are 40 Million Black People in the USA, if the Rich Blacks came out and vocally and financially supported positive images of Black People in the media, the dumb, deaf and blind Blacks will follow...

How is it that these dudes are able to convince people to wear Gucci and drive European cars for free, but they won't put the effort to advertise Black Business...?

Sh@t is :mindblown:

You obviously didn't watch the entire video. Because if you did you can clearly hear him say that several black athletes and celebrities donated to the movie.

And you ain't even black . You're a white boy on here fronting.

I agree and I disagree...

We (on the outside) get to see the human side of things. We watch interviews and get to see things from the consumer side. But if you are getting paid by an industry it might be harder to stand by and support certain things.

A slave movie about Nat Turner
A man who was tried (and found not guilty :whew:) of rape
tumultuous racial times in America

I think it is harder than you and I think to just go and through money behind this concept BEFORE it was a full fledged movie. Everything we have been able to see was the movie after it was done so it's easy to think "why couldn't they support it?! :damn:" but when it was in teh concept phases it might nt have been as easy for those in the industry to rally behind the idea.

We (as black people) don't have all of the power yet in Hollywood and so if you are dependent on others who have the power to blackball you, it might be hard to get behind a movie that at least could be seen as divisive. It sucks but it's reality.

Life is about preservation and people typically do things to preserve what they have. With all of the advisors and relationships a lot of celebrities have built, it's not as easy for them to just say "yes" and throw support to a semi-upstart like Nate Parker.

That being said I :salute: the breh for getting the movie done and standing by his principles. More people need to be like him and get what they need done however they can. His hustle is definitely A1.

yeah i saw a lot of nate parker interviews where he said some black celebrities ask him why u don't have a white hero in the film:mjlol: because hollywood wouldn't support the film... nate said he went :what: how u going to create a white hero for a true story involving nat turner.....

that's why i never sit up here and listen to these black celebrities regardless of what they say about white hollywood boycott because all they want is to join hollywood and be white themselves....

but good for the spurs tony parker and michael finley investing money to nate ..... i would always support those dudes for life for helping a brother out
