I'm no fan of Leslie's comedy outside of her stand-up (IMO that's the only setting where her 'aggressive woman' routine works)....but it's great to see someone who I once watched on Comic View from humble beginnings, finally get the national spotlight. Felt the same way when Luenell got all that exposure from Borat.

Do yall know how the industry works? Once an entertainer gets a high profile gig (In Leslies case SNL and Ghostbusters) they are now in a position where they can use their "fame" as leverage to get more work. Its why youll see actors/actresses do like a succession of movies in a 2-3 year span. They're maximizing their output while they can still leverage for bigger roles and a higher salary. This includes doing commercials too.

right? her agent is the only one "pushing" her. she pushes her to go to auditions, and casting directors (who aren't exactly the Illuminati) decide who to hire based on who gives the best audition or who seems like the best fit.

the idea that there is a conspiracy behind these clown ass idiots in hollywood is laughable. i live in the area and have met/know enough of them to know that they have no agenda beyond not getting fired.

the only thing they care about it is what will bring ratings and make them look good. if they think putting "x" person on will get them ratings because the "audience" is racist and won't watch a black lead, well then that's another thing entirely. For them it's all about self-preservation, if they know hiring someone will lead to poor ratings, they won't do it.

ive said this before the tail does not wag the dog in hollywood, it's the other way around.
