L was dope, but his legacy was certainly enhanced by his death. Great lyricist, the way he could speed up his flow was extremely impressive. Lifestylez ov da Poor and Dangerous wasn't a classic, but it was a solid 4 out of 5 joint. L had young Jay and Cam'ron as features on there.

"You better flee hops, or get your head thrown three blocks, L keeps nikkas hearts pumping like Reeboks"
"And when it comes to nookie, I'm not a rookie I got girls that make that chick Toni Braxton look like Whoopi"

I remember not long before he died The Source had his single "ebonics" as the best indie release of the year, the rest of the indie releases listed was albums. He was def a dope spitter with mad potential but yeah these kids putting him top 5 is posers and self didn't hear of him before he died since he was local.

The same ones who be like "Big L was the best MC ever and Dilla was the all time best producer", but they never heard of Children Of The Corn or Slum Village.

:heh: at OP being a Jay Z stan and NOT knowing who Big L is, he had a CLASSIC freestyle session with Jay back in the mid nineties...

Also Big L was about to sign to Roc A Fella, dude had the contract in his house, but then unfortunately he got murdered and that never happened.

Not to mention Jay bit L's lyrics before :mjpls:

Remember that interview i think with combat jack where Jay was talking about Big L and he said L had a song called "broken English" but he was talking about "Ebonics", lol. I never understoid how the fukk did he mix up the name with one of his own songs
