I haven't but we've had to apply for SNAP, get free turkeys after school, shop at goodwill, etc. more than a couple times growing up

Being lower middle class, working class, etc. sucks, even moreso these days, if I ever had a family I would not want them to live like that

I could be wrong but I believe it was churches that distributed it in 1980s NYC.
