I mean I got a 8500 that runs under 1200. You can get a 6 series for about 700. Vizio is especially gaming wise

I went TV browsing for the past couple of weeks because of the coli hyping up 4K hdr. The difference between that and 1080p was minor. I had to really compare the 4K hdr and 1080p in detail to tell the difference.

I'm sticking with 1080p for now.

Buying a 1080p in 2016 is like buying a 720p in 2013. You get the face for even thinking such foolishness.

You can get a tv without it and be fine, however HDR is already in use in viewing apps on the smart tv's and 4K blu-ray. For me HDR looks great comparing 4K blu-ray to standard blu-ray. Personally I like to future-proof as much as I can, get the best you can afford with all the features that you would use.
