Yea anyone can enter. Which is why there are pools and seeding. Its like this at every Major lol
As far as smash. Timing out is a viable way to win. It is what it is.(And thats just smash 4. Melee is totally different and is alot more offensive.)

Yeah if you never been to a tourney before dont expect to do any better than 0-2. Here in NYC they have locals every week in BK and ill tell you that nobody there is free. Even the no names are damn good. That tells you something about the guys who make top 3 every week. They are beasts.
