here's the thing new yawkers have an advantage. because yall know all kinds of spanish speakers that are not even from the southern countries. they are from the islands and what not.

down south and cali. you have a TON of mexicans, then el salv's next, then guate's etc, etc. this is why everyone that speaks a lick of spanish is a mexican to these people. the only reason i differentiate between the groups is because i grew up with so many spanish speaking friends from back in the day. from mexicans, to el salv's, guate's, belizians, etc, etc.

so i had to know the difference. and i'm black. i used to constantly correct my black friends when they would ask about one of my non mexican spanish speaking homies.
