Nah. The beats were mostly trash, and it was way too poppy. There were a few decent joints on there though. Relapse is easily the best album of the second half of his career.

I feel Eminem stepped up a lot of his punchlines or decided to include a lot more of them in this album. It's a lot more pop oriented but it sounds a lot better than the shyt after that..it's like he fell off twice
I feel like it's an Eminem album for non-Eminem fans. Not saying everybody that enjoyed it falls in that category but I just noticed that a lot of people were like along the lines of, hey this sounds more like the kind of rap that everyone else is doing.
Em is basically an underground MC at heart who got to be mainstream because he's white and marketable. Recovery was the antithesis of what an Eminem album should s sound like, it was top 40 template music. It has some redeeming qualities but I disliked it then and now because I wanted more Relapse like I was promised. But since it sold the least he had sold up to that point the label went all the way left to try and make up for what was considered Em's first commercial failure.
^This is a special song to me though, the night I found out my mom passed I sat outside listening to this on repeat til like 4 am. That was a real transformative time in my life for several reasons.

Yeah, it gave Interscope a new formula to work. Instead of goofy first singles, now we get inspirational 'stadium' music.
But it worked so of course they're going to run it into the ground til it doesn't.

There were some good moments on Recovery, I always thought he should've made the entire album like this. It's definitely a better effort than his new album.
