Not necessarily about "talent" to me. I recognize that Chris Brown and Trey Songz are both highly talented. Robin Thicke, who i mentioned as an alcoholic cheater is too. Its more about the music being "authentic" to me. Rihanna, for example is nothing but a puppet. Her music isn't real to me. Its not from her heart and soul. People write the music for her and they tell her how to sing it.The music isn't really "her". Same applies to a Chris Brown. He's talented but i dont feel the music is who he really is when he's singing about love. When he's being raunchy and referring to women as "h0es & b1tches" i feel thats the true C.B
so when a famous person shows you their ugly side, you see the ugly side as their true identity?

Depends i guess. We all make mistakes. Both the good and the bad makes up a persons' identity. K-Ci used to beat Mary J. Blige ass. That runs in the back of my mind when i hear a Jodeci song, but nobody is perfect. I just look at some artists as more genuine than others. Of course, we dont truly know any of these artists. Especially the ones who aren't really in the spotlight like that. But when it comes to r&b i simply dont want to hear the vulgarity, profanity and ignorance. An artist like Kem exudes "sophistication". I dont know shyt about him personally, but he's an example of how i like my r&b artists. Somebody that portrays and carries himself with class and maturity. The opposite of a Chris Brown. I go and buy Kem albums because of that. I feel that his music is genuine and a true reflection of himself. Thats why i support it.

I don't need anything from the artists persona wise (I used to wanna believe EVERYTHING I saw when I was a kid), but I need your projects to be solid, cohesive. R&B doesn't have a lot of that going on, I think the genre would honestly benefit from 5-7 song EPs so when you wanna do some raunchy shyt, you can do that EP. When you wanna do some grown shyt, you can do that too.

I take a lot of the 'big' artists less seriously only cause the music seems to be too catered (I only really rock with Jeremih out of the vulgar type of artists)

My personal preference is I'm a sucker for shyt like:

Or shyt like D'angelo or Dwele or something

Dope songs breh:ehh:. Ive NEVER heard of neither one them. Damn shame that music like that has to be dug up and "found". You wouldn't even think black people made music that sounds like that if u only listened to radio

I would never have heard of him if not for the BET Awards but they cut off his performance on the re-air I was watching. My fam remembered him from the Voice a couple years back, still :why: they gotta cut off the new artist showcases on the BET awards show

Ive only heard the one song but i'm in for checking out a couple more
