A few things:
I watched both eras, and my takes always have been this:
1. Lebron is mentally and physically built to compile the craziest stats in NBA History.
2. I don't think stats alone make you the best. The object of the game is to win rings, but just compile great stats. Kobe Bryant had some numbers Jordan didn't have either - i.e. the only player in history with 30k pts, 7krbs, and 6asts when he retired. Lebron passed him now - but nobody who says Lebron's stats make him better than Jordan, are arguing that Kobe's stats make him better than Mike. Also, Kobe played in a conference that was ALWAYS competitive. On top of that Kobe has the Nine All-NBA First Team selections, and when you consider his total statline AND the defensive awards, dude is really been shortchanged by fans and media who just found his style and personality offputting.
Jordan was a combination of great athlete, great will, and great skill offensively and defensively. Dude won MVP and DPOY in one season. How, Sway?
People talk about Lebron's blocks, but Jordan had back to back seasons of 120+, and Lebron never had a season of 100. Lebron never had a season of 3 steals, and Jordan had multiple seasons like that.
Nah.
MJ is the GOAT to me.
Also, I just feel some of the guys considered stars now, wouldn't necessarily be A or A+ stars when the game was more physical.
