It depends. With TNA's current status and still no season 2 confirmation for Lucha Underground the 'boom' could be over before it has even started. Either way there will be no true boom until the arrival of a major mainstream crossover superstar.

:troll: Heyo, didn't you forget about the Kofi & Bourne tag team, Air Boom?

:youngsabo: Seriousness though, the reason why there was such a boom was because of two things.
  1. The Monday Night Wars, forcing each promotion to step up their game.
  2. Creditable Main Eventers at the Time; Sting, Ric Flair, and Hogan for WCW and Undertaker, Stone Cold, and The Rock for WWF

Remember in 07 and 08 it was just basically WWE? TNA was on at 11 P.M. on Saturday nights on SPIKE. Wrestling came a long way since then.

TNA is extremely close to folding.
Lucha Underground has yet to be approved for Season 2.
The can't miss element of Raw is completely gone now.
I don't see another boom period coming anytime soon.

People keep bringing up the fact that competition for another boom is needed but I'm not 100% sure. WWF had the clear advantage mainstream wise in the 80s while other companies left were still putting on good shows so it's possible.

I do not understand where all this boom period talk is coming from.
Things were getting more widespread than EVER under the Bryan banner...the reactions on Raw, Smackdown, and PPV have been down dramatically...motherfukker had that crowd at near RIOT level in Chicago in that Stephanie promo where Brie slapped her for quitting. You don't hear that anymore...there's some cute split Cena chants but he's not really drawing on that level because he doesn't sell out arenas or get ratings up like Bryan was doing.
