I never mentioned this to you guys but fukk it I will now. Many weeks ago. I'm at work. My broke ass, the breh who oversees the self checkout machines.
A customer tells me whatever they had was fukked up. So I offer to switch out for a good one. Not because I'm considerate but being the self checkout overseer that shyt is boring as fukk. Chill and easy but boring.
So I go to the area to switch it. I'm greeted by a woman that greets me by name. Yes I have a name tag but the enthusiastic tone shocked me and she was looking down shyly with a smile.
I just say hey (idr her name) but continue walking. Quickly realize that was a teacher from highschool. I get the item because it was only like a yard away from her. Walk back.
She's black and her skintone is like in the beige range.
Here's some backstory on her.
This teacher I had I wrote an essay on my love for hip hop, mainly the golden era. Bar filled east coast boom bap and west coast sonically pleasing g funk.
I don't know if my essay inspired her or what but she later on gave a lesson using verses from Big's Juicy lol.
I remember she told us she cried when Big died and then someone asked about Pac. She replied that she didn't like Pac.
So I walk back and ask her how she's doing. I mention I'm in community college. That's the one time she looks up without looking down all shyly. Her lights up and tells me thats good.
Here's where I think I fukked up. I remember she had a son. Never seen him but she told us in class before.
So I ask how her son's doing, her eyes light up again. Tell me he's good and all grown up. Then ask me isn't he around your age? I ask well how old is he.
She said 21.
Now I fukk up by going whoa that's crazy I thought he was way younger than me.
She's like yup as she went back to that shyly looking down.
I told her it was nice to see her.
I felt like maybe she took it wrong like thinking I implied she's old. I wish I was smoother by telling her what I thought from the jump, which was that she looked the same.
I go back to self checkout and give the customer what they needed. Minutes later my teacher arrives to self checkout.
The machines use outdated software so I constantly have to help customers because they do shyt too fast for the machine.
So I end up overriding error messages or repeat what the machine says because they're impatient.
I'm overseeing by not people watching but still peeping if help is needed.
Machine predictably forced me to override some error messages for her.
She remained with the looking down shyly shyt but speaking in filler.
Like "Oh I'm sorry" "Haha I'm usually not here this long at this store".
Finally goodbye her by telling her to have a good day.
I don't know if she's usually shy since I never got to see her interact with others outside of a class setting where she follows a daily teaching plan.
I don't think she's interested in me. She's an amazon of a woman. Really tall for a women and a nice body.
I'm short and skinny lol.
My take away is I want to get better at making women feel comfortable by being smoother and charming.
