I was literally just flipping g through the channels and saw the BET Soul Train awards. Some good r&b on there. MTV was always geared towards cacs can’t trust them to get black music right, even though BET is under the same company

If we're keeping it real and 100% honest, then the majority of those 2004 nominees have contributed to R&B being dead considering the fact that they themselves have strayed far away from the genre since then. People like to avoid that topic of discussion though and place blame mainly on the new generation, while overlooking the previous generations biggest success came from crossover appeal and straying away from the genre for the most part.

I actually wouldn't say they contributed as much as to say they just changed with the times which is something you have to do if you want to remain relevant. I'm simply taking about the music quality of the time.

i mean, 2 of the songs are throwback/remixes so if you dissing them you basically dissing the prior eras. chloe is doing the same music beyonce was doing since destiny child
