Just remember that it was written just when it was released.

I still believe in that theory of what Lupe is trying to say with the album. But a year later it feels like Im reaching on some of the things I point out just to fit the theory.

But at the same time I have found much more solid "evidence" during the year that backs it up.

Maybe I will revisit and rewrite it some day.

But for now Ill just share of of the post from this summer when I figured out the hidden meaning in the the Blur my hands chorus.

So was playing the album again and was trying to decipher the things that didn't make sense to me from what I understood about the album concept.

"Playing it front to back then back to front. AKA. falling from grace then resurrection and then reaching nirvana".

For me the blur my hands chorus never made much sense. I never understood how giving the finger made you the number one fan and how it fitted the song. Since its a very uplifting song and have the feeling of forgiveness more then the feeling of "fukk you".The first part of the chorus is even more confusing when I thought about it.

When I first realized the concept of the album, the title of the song gave me a new interpretation of it. I saw blurring the hands was a a metaphor for realizing the illusion of this world and the "number one fan and lupe saying hes a fan of you"-quote was some metaphor for realizing that you are one with god.

From the floating death, to the fire of death
To a flower outside of my grave
An old man
Were you just being polite with your hands?
And it really means I'm number one, and you're a fan
Well that's cool, cause I think you're number one too
Yeah that's cool, cause I think you're number one too
Yeah that's cool, cause I think you're number one

Having figured out the concept of the album the first line now make sense since the first part of the album is falling from "heaven" to "hell".
Then there is the resurrection and moving back towards heaven. A beautiful flower growing out of death.

An old man could be a metaphor for the archetype image of the christian god. (Im not as sure with this one)

But it can be understod like this

It makes sense of the last part of the chorus.

Putting your hands together like that ("being polite with your hands") in India and bowing is a greeting called namaste. It literately means "I bow to the divine in you".

I see that you are god/divine/"number one" there for I am honoring you ("Im a fan")

Since I also have the divine inside of me I am "number one too"

I love finding gems like this so long after the album was released.

I read this as well...I believe the 2 most feasible theories is that because it's Manga influenced and they read right to left and the second is because it's like Da Vinci's writings written right to left to create a scenario that can only be interpreted by looking in a mirror. Me personally I don't by into either theory :yeshrug:

See it's shyt like this as to why a lot of folks don't fukk with Lupe or his fans cause that is one HELL of a reach...especially considering that there is a VERY slight chance Lupe considers either Drake or Wayne albums as classic enough to compare to the other albums :martin:

If there was one theory from the whole album that was widely accepted, that would be the album covers one. It ain't no reach.

I feel like you really cracked the code here. You the man.
:salute:
Would love for you to update your post with new evidence you found since then.
