2) Jay capitalized on a slowing trend, so it appeared that he killed it even if it was for a short period of time. And people love saying he slowed or even killed T Pain and Ron Browz careers and Pain is the one who made it trendy in the first place. Browz had autotune songs everywhere.

3) It came back heavy

A year is a long time for a trend as big as autotune to be out of style. I don't see how you're making light of that, if that's what you're conceding.

I wouldn't say "Obsessed" dominates. It was a big song, but it didn't dominate anything especially since it was a Mariah song. She had way bigger singles than that.
