I think I know why I like violent music as opposed to happy/love music

I find it funny how people can't stomach Horror core rap, but can listen through rappers catching more bodies than Vietnam.
it largely has to do with the production, those weird ass beats are kinda hard to stomach. i bet if they got on a regular trap/drill beat they'd be fine

I prefer violent music because I'm not happy with my life right now and it describes the lifestyle I've witnessed personally with nikkas I grew up. While I may not be running the streets trap and drill music still captures a hungry mentality that I have.

The energy that music possesses - people naturally gravitate to the ones that reflect them the most in general, no matter the mood. Music does generally have the capacity to completely alter one's mind state - it's a very powerful thing, and one that has interested me ever since I began to study music in my late teens.

I can't say I like violent music compared to happy music, I have an appreciation for both. All I can say is that I love the contrast - I go from bright, colorful music, to dark, brooding beats with heavy chords. The latter is something I tend to gravitate towards. Not always violent but dark.

And yeah, you can't really neglect the dark side of yourself, you have to exercise it somehow and music is a good way of doing that. Sometimes even learning how to compose is helpful for people.

So would u say that its completely in the realm of possibility for music to be used in part to alter the mindstate of a large group of people or an entire race?

So when cats start rapping about chopping up bodies on a trap beat on top of a catchy hook, would you blast it?

Absolutely - with a lack of education about what we feed our brains in terms of multimedia, we're easily susceptible to such social engineering.

I discovered something about the solfeggio tones (I think) and read about the love frequency - was said to change your mood for the better. It's as simple as tuning your guitar to these tones or playing your vinyl at a slightly different pitch. Certain chords used to be banned back in the day too because they were said to inspire evil thoughts.

So I think music, being that it encompasses all, has the capacity to have an effect on people at large. Lyrics do have massive sway in how that music is perceived. Imagine if Immortal Technique rapped Migos-style on a Zaytoven beat? :russ:

channel aggression i could never channel in real life

This is it. It's kind of a reckless and selfish but still liberating lifestyle...I wish I could do about 1/3 of the things in those lyrics but i'll stay bound to my responsibilities and predictability :shaq2: unless someone threatens the fam:demonic:
