How Many of You D-Bry Stans Taking a Hiatus After Sunday Triple H/Batista are crowned champ? mjpls:
Or will it still be Orton?
This story line is not really bad, it's not good, but it's just scripted and perfectly executed old school reaction-based rasslin' - if you look closely at it. The TV outcome is not equal to the place D-Bry has in the company, as we all saw Bryan's reaction to the meeting he had with Vince about becoming the focal point moving forward. He's smart enough to know that he wasn't going to be showered with promises of title wins and an elongated run with the belt. We got a long title run with CM Punk, and we all saw how that struggled to be respected by so many. He knew that what was ahead was going to be a run where he's on the hunt, building his following and character, ultimately resulting in more cake for everyone involved.
His merch is pushing, he's the most sympathized face, and he's been getting lowkey exposure in media all over the place. He even got the cool Bella! He winnin, brehs.
I was talking to a homie of mine that gave up wrestling for a bit after Triple H went on that tear in the early 00s, where shyt was just unwatchable. We both agreed that this is NOTHING like that era, where they were just lining up empty faces for Haitch to eventually go over. This is building to something far more special, where the bridge to the next era is being crafted carefully, and powerfully. The young blood is ready to take its place at the top, with the likes of the SHIELD, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, and others.
These youngins will be lead by D-Bry, much like Austin was the driving force for the Attitude Era and the young, desperate superstars fighting the WCW.
It would be very satisfactory if Bryan walked out of mania the champ, but it is not as important now as it is later. The argument is that his movement could be tossed aside by fans as yet more fool's gold in the end, but I think the gamble's worth it. The next gen is at the door of their time, but haven walked through it just yet. Summer Slam would be perfect time for him, as other stars might be ready to walk through that door with him.

How many times will goal posts be moved on this "perfect time" for him to win the belt?
