he heard how Nas did a grown man album, and it inspired him. this album to me is what Kingdome Come should have been. Nas gave Jay the Blueprint. Nas is Jays only competition in terms of old ninjas making music. I doubt Jay care about the youngins. and If Nas was underperforming, Jay would be like well at least I am ahead of the lil ninja. But that Life IS Good is just too much piff. It had to shake jay to his core. He saw Nas pull ahead. so i salute Jay. i dont know how i will feel about this album in 1 week, but for now. its a good answer.

I do agree that Nas's last album influenced this new Jay album. There is always a competition, whether friendly or malice. As for competition, I wouldn't say Nas is Jay's only competition. There are still hot older rappers around my dude; Raekwon, Camron, LL (when he decides to bring it), Big Daddy Kane, Lord Finesse, Redman, Ghostface, master ace, Show Biz & AG and many more.

Nas dropped a good album with LIG..Jay dropped a good album too....but somehow Nas gets credit for that too?

Lets just give him credit for that weak verse on BBC

:why:

How'd I know this would happen...

This album is good, has a consistent sound, and covers some topics involving Jay's life over the last couple years... so Nas had to be the reason why? :heh:

Honestly, it's not that big of a departure from how Jay's sounded over the last two years. And that's not a knock, but it's not like I was ever listening to this album thinkin' "yeah he definitely was influenced by LIG". That's just another reach to make another Nas/Jay-Z thread... after 12 years... damn shame :snoop:

Lol, people always going overboard,.

All in all, it's interesting none the less to hear grown man rap from Nas, Ye and Jay. It's gonna influence a lot of young men and boys. Like I can get money, get married, raise my kids, whatever.

A whole different turn from that gangsta lifestyle. But still gangsta in their actions.

Nah not really. In fact you could argue MCHG is the anti-Life is Good

Whereas that album was about a dude aging gracefully, reminscing while dealing with his life today, Jay's album is more about being the older guy who has the money to still bring the kids around him. Make of that what you will
