I don;t think men get a pass for being whores. I just think that men aren't offended when they are called whores. Rightfully so. Gender roles are part of the reason why it is not respectable for women to be promiscuous but it is not shameful for men to be promiscuous.

If a dude was interested in getting manicures, pedicures, n facials he would get flack for that because men aren't supposed to be getting "dolled up". It is not a masculine trait, because men hunt, not attract.

Women make them selves look as good as possible because they are trying to attract a mate so if a women gets manicures pedicures n facials there is nothing wrong with that.

i agree to an extent. sometimes promiscuity is influenced by situations. it doesn't always mean you're trying to fill a void, it could mean that the opportunity arises so much that you're placed in the position of having sex more frequently and with different people instead of being monogamous. i could take my situation for example. i'm presented with a decent amount of opportunities to have sex with random women i don't know from all over the world. based on my personal beliefs, i don't feel like i have to have sex with each and everyone of them but someone with a different viewpoint or background than myself might try to bark at every opportunity (maybe even attempt to create those opportunities that don't exist). i think the way i compensate for the availability is by being more withdrawn and shy towards people i don't know but others might not feel the same way i do...

Yes, men sleeping with a lot of women may be seen as a positive and women doing the same is seen as negative. The funny thing that no one has ever addressed though is that when a man is either faithful, doesn't cheat, has 2 or less sexual partners, loses his virginity at a later age, is abstinent, or is a virgin he is seen as undesirable whereas with women those are seen as desirable traits. The double standard does in fact go both ways.
