You can actually get sealed games at a pretty decent price nowadays. I just bought Doom the other day at rapestop brand new for $20.
With used, there is always the risk that the game doesn't read (which has happened to me before). That risk doesn't really exist with sealed games (now, I fully expect someone to tell me they bought a sealed game that didn't read).
I've bought plenty of used games too but if I can get a brand new game in the same price range (around $20 and under), I'm gonna do it

When the price of Best Buy's GCU fell so low it became meaningless to buy used games because you're getting 20% off new games so they cost less than used anyway. I have paid membership up until 2020.
