It does last years champ was Denver the year before that Seattle gave it away, the year before that Seattle won and I think Baltimore won before that and don't forget those giants defenses that helped eli get his rings. Elite qbs help you compete for a ring but elite defenses still win a majority of Superbowls.
The only teams that won Superbowls recently with offenses were peytons colts one year, 2011 GB and the pats and they still needed a great defensive play to seal it.
Defense don't have to be top but they have to make plays and get the most out of them.
All defenses in the final 4 have made plays consistently in each game and caught INTs and had sufficient pass rush in their games played in the playoffs. Pack's D did better than I thought when they played Giants and Boys. Falcon's D made plays consistently against Seattle's O and Baby Hair was picked off and Vic Beasley is a beast. Pat's and Steelers had less challenging opponents for their first playoff games playing Fins with Moore and the flawed Texans offense. But both Pat's and Steelers D made huge impact. Shazier and Harrison for Steelers are good and Logan Ryan for Pats played a great game. U still need good enough D to make it thru playoffs and SB.
Really hate my Boys lost but champ games and SB gonna be interesting with elite SB winning QBs (not including Matt Ryan but his play this year has been MPV worthy) and defenses who do enough to compete.
Pittsburgh's D was awful to start the season, but I believe they've been the best D in the league yardage-wise since they started their winning streak which is 9 games now
