I thought Shaq was a horrible free throw shooter, but DeAndre Jordan is shooting 37%

:dwillhuh:

How is that even possible?
.373 from the foul line?

Even Shaq hit 53% for his career.
Even Dwight Howard shoots 56%
How can you be that bad from the line?
Is the fukkin rim sitting on 22s going back and forth?
:mindblown:

You could put a blindfold on MJ and he'd still shoot at least 60

This goofball got 90 million, too? :wtf:

him and drummond breh. shooting your free throws that poorly, regardless of everything else they do, is fukking disgraceful at a NBA level. people want the hacking to stop, but if you're in the nba and shooting that badly then you deserve to get hacked. :scust:

I actually think his form is awful. He starts with a normal shooting motion but it stiffens up right before he releases and he has an inconsistent release point. Sometimes he shoots a lot higher than others and sometimes he releases a lot lower and doesn't even get it to the rim.

He should be using more of a push shot from the hip area since it's easier to replicate over and over again. Dwight and Shaq were bad but there is less going on with their shot and they could make it 50-60% of the time.

Drummond would a lock for first team all NBA if he could make at least 70% of he free throws.

DeAndre looks like he puts in zero time practicing his free throws or any part of his offensive game for that matter

I think it's a combination of reluctance to change his shooting form and confidence. Shaq said the reason for his poor free throw shooting was because his hands were so big that he had a hard time shooting the ball properly. Rick Berry suggested that Shaq and other poor free throw shooters try shooting under hand. They all refused because the form didn't looking appealing, despite it's effectiveness. The same thing is happening to Deandre. Also, when you factor in that he's used to being the biggest and most athletic player on the court, he probably didn't have the same drive to improve his offensive game because he could dominate so easily.
