I truly believe no one that runs the NCAA is actually watching College Basketball

Its crazy how much perception has changed. 5 years ago the story was "The NBA is trash, noone plays defense, they have no heart, college basketball is where its at, you can't beat March Madness". Now media folks are openly discussing how wack college basketball is and how to fix it and the NBA has gotten past all that "image problem" bullsh!t....

A large part of that I'm sure has to do with how much ESPN has invested in LeBron from jump. But still :obama:

I think you may have got confused, I was referring to Melo winning the NCAA 'ship for Boeheim. Other than that 'ship Boeheim hasn't done shyt. I'm surprised cuse is actually producing some NBA players, I'd imagine their defense is absolute GARBAGE going into the league (Melo :mjpls:)

This and if you let the media be your guide, you'd swear his teams ran the BE. 5 Big East tourney titles in 37 yrs on the job:pachaha:, 3 FFs:russ:, team plays like 25 straight home games to begin season (and when was the last team they've played a team with a pulse in non conference?), and even with the talented squads he's had, only one title :pachaha:

This is an extremely down year talent wise, and we all know sports fans are the most over-reactionary bunch of folks in the world, not gonna get much better next year because all the talent will be stacked on my kentucky squad :smugdraper:

Because if they did, they would change some of the rules immediately so it can be more enjoyable to watch

1. Lower the shot clock.

2. Get rid of some of the TO

3. Ban the Zone.

4. Get rid of the possession arrow

5. 6 fouls to foul out.

None of this stuff is hard to implement.

I agree with everything here except banning zone..

Ahh, his head coaching record at the bottom of the wikipedia page was hard to read, I thought he had only been in the FF once for a second :heh:

Outside the gambling factor of March Madness, college basketball is in real trouble. I'm not that old, but I remember when teams like UNLV and other powers would score regularly in the 100s and bball was entertaining as hell. Nowadays, games between top 15 teams like Oklahoma State and Kansas can go double over time and still not reach 70 points. :aicmon:

I like your idea, but I would add two more. The ref game really needs to be addressed. They are trash and want to be too much of the show. Some of them i.e. Ted Valentine makes Joey Crawford seem reasonable.

They need to crackdown on the physical play bs like the NBA did a few years ago. No more hand checking and WWE wrestling on the blocks.

And lastly, they need to do what MLB did, you can go straight to the pros or you have to stay for three years. Let the elite talent get trained in the NBA, and let everybody develop their game in college.

I forgot 1 thing.

The charge/block call has to be addressed

Everything is a charge in CB

I meant to address the refs in my prior post

They mostly stink. Too much hand checking and pushing and movement is restricted because of that. It's terrible.

I am not a Boeheim fan, but this is untrue.

His teams have gone to 3 national title games. I think since 2003, they have not made it past the Sweet 16.

yea i apologize. i was half-sleep when i posted that, and even still, i doubled back like "this is wierd".:pachaha:

my deepest apologies & deepest daps.

as for boeheim, they were debating about this on tv last week, someone said that boeheim achieved his success without great talent most of the time. do yall agree with this? syracuse has had its fair share of big-time college stars that didnt do anything in the league.
