The resolution disparity continues on as the Xbox One and PS4 face off over the latest high-end eighth generation exclusive, Lords of the Fallen. The game is a Dark Souls-style hack-and-slash, action-adventure that focuses a lot on the strategy and skill of combat rather than just relying on rapid button mashing. It's been revealed, however, that Lords of the Fallen won't be running at native 1080p on the Xbox One.

Videogamer managed to get in word with Lords of the Fallen creative director Tomasz Gop, who talked to them about the spec performance of the upcoming game for the eighth generation home consoles.

According to Gop...
[They're] "pretty much similar," [but] "probably the resolution [on Xbox One] is like 900p instead of 1080p on PlayStation 4. But apart from that there's nothing different I would say."

I have to agree. I absolutely love my X1...

however, even though I really probably can't see the difference, something erks me about Microsoft not completely putting "FOOT TO NECK" on Sony by taking a greater loss & making the superior console specs wise.

Do they not know at this point that specs, in itself, is a PR campaign? Why allow Sony to get an upper hand, an upper hand that shows itself when each new article that says PS4-1080P & X1-900P...]

shyt reeks of collusion. No way Sony should have a strong hold at this point in the game, but they do.

There was no foot to neck to be had . They thought they had shyt in the bag (esp here in north america). But then all of the rumors came true about weaker specs and the DRM shyt. And then the fukkery coming out of all of the Xbox One Execs was the nail in the coffin.

Xbox One was NEVER gonna outsell the PS4 even without DRM. And you know why? Because outside of North America, the rest of the planet is Playstation World. How you think Sony caught up from 9 million hole last gen to start shyt off? No headstart and lead this time and cheaper price.... shyt was taking candy from a baby.

And then the backpedaling began. And price cuts/bundles left and right. shyt is utterly pathetic (and I do get that it is great for consumers, but still ).

Xbox showed their cards and true vision last summer and for nikkaz to still cape for them and buy their shyt was sad IMO. Battered wife shyt. Get them nikkaz out the game and let someone else take their spot.

These resolution and/or framerate differences are gonna last this entire gen because the PS4 has better hardware in it than the Xbox One. It's a fact that there is nothing cats can do about it. There's always gonna be games out there that don't require as much power where games on both will be equal for the most part, but it's fact at this point that a stronger more powerful and easier to develop on platform will have the advantage. It's not rocket science.
