U not wrong my bruh, and i am a staunch believer in accountability. So what im bout to say isnt me making excuses, just basically answering ur question. There are a number of reasons WHY we might fukk around and come off them meds. And we ultimately are accountable despite them all, but there are levels to it.
For starters, its a very imperfect science to being properly medicated to begin with. First u need to find the right combination and dosage to begin with. And not only is every person different when it comes to this, but eventually more often than not ur brain and body chemistry will stop responding like it originally did, and those meds will need to be adjusted. The more meds u on, naturally, the trickier this can be. And by the very nature of the beast our decision making can easily start to deteriorate. And bad decisions will ensue, i.e. "fukk these meds"(especially when we dealing with fukked up side effects on top of not feeling like we getting the bang for our buck).
Then even if everything is working great and that brain is firing on all cylinders, there is still always the uninvited and unannounced specter of life just lifing. Maybe the bus breaks down, or if u functional/fortunate enough to drive the car decides to die on u.
Fukk man, sometimes the doctor fukks up the script, or a receptionist fukks up and forgets to phone ya shyt in. im not saying missing one dose is necessarily gone throw u out of wack,(it can, but not usually). But there are countless ways the devil can just shyt all over ur plans and now our already impaired judgment is really starting to show its ass. And most doctors can be real dikkheads, especially to a certain segment if the population in my experience. So getting a new appointment can take anywhere from DAYS to a whole monthly cycle. And woe muhfukkin betide u if that man has a vacation coming up.

And these fukkers take a vacation damn near every other month sometimes, and usually the start at like 2 weeks on the SHORT end. I once had a creh write me 3 months worth in june and book my next shyt for september. If God forbid i had got in a fender bender that day i would have been royally FUKKED for the summer. Your only real recourse in that situation is preemptively booking a vacation of ur own. The kind of "vacation" where the food is complete greasy ass u gotta cut the with a plastic spoon, and the dress code prohibits shoe laces and drawstrings
I apologize for the how long this post turned out to be, but believe it or not i could go on to the extent that at this point im just getting started. 99% of the time we are dependent on these meds for LIFE breh. And no matter how blessed one is sooner or later life gone throw u a curve ball. There are so many variables man. At the end of the day its on us how and when we decide to swing the bat, but when u a black man in America u will find more often than not when it comes to prosecutors, judges, and juries, the degree of accountability u are held is usually way less sympathetic than that of our cackish peers. And aside from the usual biases, we are also far less likely statistically to have a parent or relative who can afford to shell out the insane amount of bread to cover bail, let alone lawyer and court fees.
Breh said he been down ten months so if i was to make an educated guess i would say that it sounds like he beat the case but had to sit down for a minute just waiting for his "speedy trial" to play out. And by beat, i mean he was lucky enough to get probation from the "benevolent" judge based on his mental illness and i dont wanna just assume his fukk up was petty with no info to go on, but somehow i doubt he killed or seriously injured anyone. Even if he snatched a purse i dont think we would be seeing breh before the next wave of new posters are halfway to OG status.
TL;DR its not that cut and dry, lots of factors with tons of variables at play and levels of accountability when it comes to keeping up with our meds.
