I know it's crazy, but I still think some desperate ass team with money is gonna give him very close to the max. Honestly, for his mental health I hope he doesn't take the big money. I don't think he can handle the scrutiny if he fails as the #1 option/highest payed player. You can tell he already overthinks when he's playing.

He's one of the those rare cases where high BBIQ (and just high IQ in general), great work ethic and great talent doesn't translate into anything on the court. Spoken with him a few times and dude is one of the smartest cats in the league but you're exactly right, his biggest weakness is he overthinks EVERYTHING. If he had the BBIQ of Waiters he'd be a better player than he is now - which is a sad thing to say.

He overthinks a lot. Tons of talent and he'll at least get what he turned down last season. A team will think they can get him to turn the corner :yeshrug:

Smarter people usually do overthink shyt because they want to look at everything from all angles. I see it here at my job. The project engineers will have a 30 minute meeting for the most simple shyt. The conclusion they come to is usually the most common sense solution they thought of in the first place.

If he's as smart as everyone in here is saying he'll take the money and run
I read an interview where he was saying he overthinks things and is hesitant because of that
But I think that's more of a plea cop than anything
Dude is a stretch 4 that can't shoot threes that well and ain't athletic enough to blow by good defenders on the perimeter
Ain't like GS is asking him to run the offense from the post or even doing pick and rolls with him constantly
He be out there bricking wide open threes and jumpers that other players set up for him :snoop:
