Ya do realize that Miguel Cabrera hit for the Triple Crown last year (lead the league in home runs, batting average, and RBI's) and threatening to do it again this year. Ya also do realize that Mike Trout had the greatest offensive season by a rookie ever last year and Bryce Harper. The reason why Barry Bonds' home run race didn't get much play is because by that time the novelty of the home run had worn off. Baseball's got mad young stars right now its just that the media isn't really talking about them as much as they used to. I don't think its cuz home runs are down I think its because of the fact that the PED's became so rampant in the sport that when someone like Miguel Cabrera hits for the triple crown(something that has been done in almost 60 years) its kind of ho hum cuz everyone thinks there was PED's involved.
I say try to get into the pennant races (even though it might be to early to really get excited). You got like 4 teams in the AL East alone fight for a spot, Texas and the Rangers battlign it out, 3 teams in the NL Central battling it out, and I think the NL West is still wide open. If your only a casual fan though its kinda hard to get into but I still like following the standing even though my team (The Mets) sucks.
