I wonder how a Hendrix biopic directed by The Hughes brothers would've been?

I read a while ago that the Hughes brothers were suppose to be doing a biopic on Hendrix years ago
I wonder why the movie never came to be?
Maybe creative differences between them and the Hendrix estate?

Depends on if they can come to an agreement with Jimi's sister Janie...

She is protective of his image and for good reason, he made alot of people rich when he was alive and he was getting ripped off.

I read that she doesn't allow his music to be played in any scenes where there is drug usage.
