problem is fans are used to having epic films and legendary actors play the roles of Batman villains (Nicholson, Jim Carrey, Liam Neeson, Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy). Ain't nobody tryna see some D-List soap opera actor playin a bootleg Joker

The closest thing we got to a WB Batman series was that old Birds of Prey series starring Huntress and Oracle.

I liked that show...it was cheesy as hell but still pretty fun.

And a SMallville type of show with Bruce Wayne (not Batman) that shows Bruce's early days before putting on the Batman costume would be cheap as fukk to produce. It would basically just be a dude in a ski mask having fight scenes with stunt men. None of the Smallville issues of blwoing thier budget on effects for the first and last episodes of the season and the stuff in the middle only having enough money to show Clark running fast for 3 second an episode.

I'm sure the team behind Arrow isn't breaking the bank to produce that show, and it's actually pretty solid.
It's just a matter of time IMO.

Truthfully a Gotham City Police Department show could be great. It'd be cheap to do, could very much be it's own thing, but you could also use some of Batman's lesser villains and make references to Batman without ever having to actually show him.

At it's best it was the former and at it's worst the latter, but mostly is somewhere in between, worth watching though.
