2026 will forever remain the year that Jutta Leerdam put her name near the top of all-time greats.

A lot was said about Jutta before she got on the ice. She was referred to as a diva for taking a private plane to Milan, Italy. Her very presence caused a stir before the Winter Olympics due to her insane beauty.

Many began to assume that she was all looks and not focused on the ultimate goal. That couldn’t have been further from the truth. She won Olympic gold in the women’s 1,000-meter speed skating final at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games.

Jutta Leerdam was in tears and in shock after the race. These two pictures showcased that emotion.
