Indie artists typically aren't in the same universe as stuff like this, so it simply doesn't affect them how people think it might. They aren't anywhere near a level where popular artists getting botted will affect their numbers.

The bot streams affect the royalty rates for indie because it's based on market share. That's part of the reason the majors part because it increases their market share so it increases the royalty rates for all of their artists.
