For a few reasons. First off, I love marketing personally. I love finding ways to generate interest towards something.

Secondly and probably most importantly to you, marketing pays very well and is very easy work for the amount of money you make.

Third, 1/3 of the workforce are marketing related jobs so you can be secure knowing that they'll always will be opportunities for you in marketing. Go to any employment website like linkedIn or Careerbuilder and search for marketing jobs. You'll see what I'm talking about once you see the salaries and job descriptions. I

What's the most common entry level position in marketing?

Marketing rep. Out here in the Bay its different tho, with Silicon Valley being the hub of social media, out here an entry level position in marketing could be a social media coordinator. Meaning you increase the company's awareness via a social media platform. For instance, lets say you work for a company like Old Navy which is out here in the Bay. You could tell them that by you being on the Coli, you're performing demographic research. Easy work and you get to fukk around on the internet all day.
