I'd like to see Maniac Mansion and Day of The Tentacle re-released like they did with Monkey Island

I really liked the remake they did for 360 and PS3 with the Monkey Island series. Same game but with updated graphics and the option of playing with the old graphics.

I'd like to see them do the same with a bunch of Lucas Arts games. Those graphic adventure games were pure piff. They should just put a whole bunch of em in the same game. Maniac Mansion, the Indiana Jones games etc. That would be nice.

I'd love to see this as well. Grim Fandango especially. So many classics from an almost forgotten genre :to:

You ain't lying. They don't make games like that any more. I guess gaming is now way too advanced so no one would care for such antiquated software.

But it would be nice to see graphic adventures made with today's graphics, also the fact that they could make way longer games in that particular genre cause back in the day most of these games were still on floppy disc so they couldn't really fit all that much into the game.

But yeah, it would be nice if they could put all the Lucas Arts games together in one game for the PS3 and 360.

I think Disney owns the rights to those games now, so that wll probably never happen

Why would Disney not wanna release any of them? I guess there's not that much interest in them, they will probably think its a waste of time/money.

Maniac Mansion was one of my favorite games from NES. I never really got to play Day of the Tentacle because I didn/t have a PC, but my boy had it.

I played Maniac Mansion at other people's houses

I had a PC but it only had floppy disk no CD Rom. The only game I played at home was Secret Of Monkey Island. All the other games I played at other people's houses. I was pissed back then cause the graphic adventure games were popping and a lot of my friends had many of them and I never got to play any of them, unless I was at someone else's house :smh:

One of my favorite games from my childhood. Very challenging and entertaining.

With that said, I have no desire to play an updated version. Some things should just be left alone. Plus it wouldn't sell well.

What yall know about "
Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist" tho?

The Monkey Island updated version was great. It was the same game, just updated graphics. Made it a lot better IMO.

What the f*ck is Freddy Pharkas though?

Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist is a comic Old West adventure computer game created by Al Lowe (of Leisure Suit Larry fame) and Josh Mandel (of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon fame) and published by Sierra On-Line in 1993. It was dubbed "the Blazing Saddles of computer games" by Computer Gaming Magazine.

Yeah, Disney probably won't bother with releasing those old games, even if they will basically make free money. There is a dedicated audience for these games and they already run on modern computers thanks to ScummVM, so the games could easily be sold on GOG.com

Also, if you are looking for modern adventure games, they are definitely still being made. Here's the list of games with the "Point & Click" tag on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/tag/en/Point & Click/

A recent notable release is "Broken Age," which I made a thread for: http://www.thecoli.com/threads/broken-age-windows-mac-linux-android-ios-ouya.181611/
