if I can pursue my career at home, while watching the kids
Heck no I don't, one day I'd like to have the surplus to do so though. Having a deep family like your grandfather would be awesome.

Maybe this means you would be ok with being a stay at home mom then, if that was to happen?![]()

...yeah but, as an Asante woman, women contributed in making the bread and bringing it to the home also ...since it was a Matrilineal system. I'm sure y'all aren't closed minded and willing to find common ground.See, this here will probably never get you a conscious brother. They are more conservative, with the idea of a traditional household of the man making the bread and the woman cooks it.

I've met some women with similar mindsets. What is more important though, the aspects of a career or family matters? If the household is held down financially, what reason would it be for the woman to also work? In that case who are you working for and what exactly are you trying to prove?
Peace.
well...based on what I want to do and what I'm currently studying (African History and Business), I want to work for my own self-fulfillment and to help out. My mother was a nurse and when she would come home she did what was needed in the household; my father is a councillor and most of his work is on the weekends so though he made money for the family he also took care of us and some of the housework. They made it work, and from a cultural standpoint this is all we know how the household work, so why can't I continue that. Is it wrong that I want to help out financially in the household while making sure what needs to be done in the home is done as well?
I understand the traditional household...but why can't I help out as well.
I made it apparent the need for you to help out is not required. So it would purely be in your own self fulfillment. So again what exactly are you trying to prove? What is this "self fulfillment" about?
